Summary

Tilo Hähnel studied musicology, psychology and art history at the Humboldt Universität zu Berlin and the Freie Universität Berlin. In 2012 he did his doctorate at the Martin-Luther Universität Halle-Wittenberg on computer-based models of expressive performance, particularly on parameters of historically informed performances.

From 2008–2011 Tilo Hähnel worked at the research project »Computer-generated expressive music performance for musicological listening analysis«, which was funded by the federal state Saxony-Anhalt and run by the faculty of computer science of the Otto-von-Guericke Universität Magdeburg and the Zentrum für Telemann-Pflege und -Forschung in Magdeburg. From 2011-2014 he worked at the DFG-project »Voice and singing in popular music of the U.S.A. (1900–1960)« at The Liszt School of Music Weimar. 2014-2016 he was visiting lecturer at Martin-Luther Universität Halle-Wittenberg and from 2016 to 2019 researcher at the DFG-project "Technologies of Singing" at the musicology seminar Detmold/Paderborn.
