50 years of Paderborn University

Under the motto “Celebrating the future”, we are looking forward to celebrating the 50th anniversary of Paderborn University together in 2022 – with each other at the university, but also with the public, the citizens of our region and the City of Paderborn!

A colourful programme of numerous events will take you along on an exciting journey through the UPB cosmos this year. In addition to the five central anniversary events – the ceremonial opening of the anniversary year, the UPB 50 Family Festival for all university employees, an official reception in the Town Hall, the academic conference “Data Society. Opportunities – Responsibility – Innovations” and a closing event on campus for students lasting several days – the “50 Mosaics” will be a special highlight of this anniversary year.

Under the title “50 Mosaics”, we would like to make the diversity of Paderborn University visible to the public with a special series of events: throughout the anniversary year, we will be presenting a varied programme for young and old that will give you a first-hand experience of our research, teaching, study and campus life. The creative minds behind these events are our academics, students and employees.

The entire programme will be rounded off with further cultural events such as a 70s musical staged especially for the anniversary year or the lecture series “50 years of Paderborn University” and many more.

Further information and an overview of the extensive programme of events can be found on the anniversary website: www.upb50.de.

You can also follow the anniversary year on the social media. The official channels of Paderborn University (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, YouTube) will be reporting on the anniversary at #WirFeiernZukunft.
