Structure of the Jenny Aloni Center

The Jenny Aloni Center is a network of various committees and working groups. The services that the centre offers draw on the skills and expertise of various departments and institutions. Together, we help support and promote early-career researchers and junior academics at Paderborn University!

Board of Directors

The Board of Directors is the academic committee of the Jenny Aloni Center and is responsible for assisting Paderborn University with the strategic direction of its activities for supporting early-career researchers and junior academics. The Board of Directors is made up of faculty members as well as representatives of early-career researchers and junior academics from all faculties. Advisory members, such as the Equal Opportunities Officer and Ombudsperson for Good Research Practice, ensure that the activities for supporting  early-career researchers and junior academics link into the university’s key strategic activities. The Board of Directors is headed up by the Vice-President for Research and Junior Academics.

Staff Unit Academic Career Development

The staff unit “Academic Career Development”, which is directly affiliated to the Vice-President for Research and Junior Academics, is responsible for the operational management of the Jenny Aloni Center.

Institutional Members working group

In the Institutional Members working group, the Jenny Aloni Center brings together the management teams from all of the graduate centres in the university’s five faculties and all its graduate school co-ordinators. The aim is to closely co-ordinate the specific needs of the university’s departments/institutions and programmes with the Jenny Aloni Center and to design tailored support and advisory services.

Services working group

The Services working group brings together the various academic support offices within Paderborn University that provide services for early-career researchers and junior academics. The aim is to foster networking between departments/institutions and co-operation partners within Paderborn University, to make better use of internal skills and expertise and to jointly provide an attractive range of services for doctoral candidates, postdocs and junior professors.
