Socioeconomic-based research on vocational education and training.

Socio-VET is the name of a working group within the Department of Business and Human Resource Education at the University of Paderborn. This working group focuses on research projects that examine teaching and learning related to and integrated within business and economics. Their work is informed by social theory, sociology of education, and political science. Research activities are guided by qualitative research methodology including discourse analysis and ethnographic studies. Current projects focus on:

• Learners identity formation in the context of the alternating learning venues of the dual system
• The construction 'professions situation' within VET programmes
• The formation and development of educational innovations
