InBig

Individuelle Kompetenzentwicklungswege: Bildungsgangarbeit in einer dualisierten Ausbildungsvorbereitung.

The project InBig is the second part of the XENOS sponsorship period and started on the 1st of March, 2012. InBig is a research and development project, which focuses on the dualised preparation for vocational education. Theoretical as well as practical experience is integrated in the preparation for vocational education. These experiences relate to each other and are accompanied systematically.

  • In a dualized preparation for vocational education, individual ways of the development of competence should be organised on educational programme work and curriculum work. Appropriate concepts of implementation are being developed and evaluated.
  • The use of tools for competence development is implemented in educational programmes and integrated in curricular structures and didactic year plans.
  • Based on a systematic analysis, adequate learning environments are created to reach individual goals.
  • Educational programmes of the vocational education preparation are developed in order to take the specific individual problems of the heterogeneous group of adolescents into account. Systematic educational opportunities, which offer a real second chance for vocational education and employment to young people are arranged through curricular structures.

The individual support of pupils is systematically integrated into the educational background work of vocational schools through the implementation of an individual educational programme. It thus forms the basis of the preparatory work in the vocational education courses. More detailed information can be found under "research activities".

The project InBig is a part of the federal programme "XENOS - Integration and Variety" and is sponsored by the Federal Ministry for Labour and Social Affairs and by the European Social Funds (ESF). In cooperation between the Ministry for Education of North Rhine-Westphalia and the centre for vocational education and training (Cevet) of the University of Paderborn the project will be realized at 17 vocational schools in North Rhine-Westphalia during the 1st of March, 2012 and 31st of December, 2014.

Information about the vocational schools and project partners which are involved can be found under "stakeholders".
