Research Interests: The research focuses on the development, application and theory of adjoint-based optimization methods. An important role plays the technique of algorithmic differentiation for the efficient provision of derivative information. Based on these exact derivative structure-exploiting optimizations approaches are derived and analysed. The new methods are mainly applied in an engineering-oriented context.
