Intelligent Technical Systems

Based on a close cooperation of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering as well as Informatics, new development and design techniques are developed. They are based on extensive modeling , simulation and formal verification of these models. These techniques take into consideration the increasing shift from hardware to software, as well as the complex networking of a system.

Light constructions

The main objective is to develop the fundamentals of an extremely light, efficient construction in the steel and plastic field, for a wide range of applications. They should allow for significant energy and economisation of finances. At present, applications in automobile and aircraft construction are in focus.
